Orange and Purple

This quilt was designed for a good friend based on a conversation about a memory she had of me saying, at age 10, that my favorite color was orange. In my memory my favorite color was purple. When I came across the cherry-blossom patterned orange fabric, I knew it had to be made into a quilt for her, seeing as I know her favorite flowering trees, now, are cherry blossoms. I find myself often thinking about this conversation when I notice my frequent use of the color orange. Whose memory is correct?
