The Ground She Moves, Flies

Like the geological formation of patterns in earth through shifts over time, the patterns and textures transform in constant movement and reformation: they seem to fall into place and yet also, perhaps, fly away. My design process began with three randomly chosen words: Sliding, Rippling, Folding. From each word I developed a block and continued to explore ways to combine ideas. The blocks necessarily changed when brought together, but remnants can be found. The basic triangular pattern comes from Rippling. The white stripes along which the triangles shift come from Sliding. The repeated folds in the negative space come from Folding.
